Friday, October 14, 2011New Qrodo Release Available
Tuesday, December 22, 2009New Qrodo Release: Charlamov 3.0
Sunday, December 21, 2008We have now released Qrodo 3.0, with a magnitude of improvements in functionality, ease of use and scalability. This release is aptly named after Valerij Charlamov. A legend in Soviet ice-hockey. He was always creative and made anything on the ice look easy. Relatively small, but one of the major attractions in the game of hockey when he played. He had impressive skating and stick handling skills. Not only was he a fast skater, he could constantly change gears and direction.
Many of the features in a live-casting application like Qrodo, needs to be fine-tuned for the circumstances at the venue. Our customers asked us not only to support the broadcasting crew in planning, testing and executing sport events
- Setting up and announcing events
- Detecting and connecting DV-cameras
- Live-cast with best possible quality for the available bandwidth
but also prepare them for the unforeseen.
- Switch from Wifi to 3G networks in the last minute,
- Recover after disconnected cameras and network failures
- Manually enter goals and strikes in the online scoreboard
- Changing or adding cameras ad-hook
- Adjust the streaming bitrate when you have oscillating bandwidth.
The Charlamov release can be downloaded from http://www.qrodo.com. You still need an invite code which you can request from info@qrodo.com. We would like to get you started as soon as possible.
Google for Firsov, Maltsev, Krutov and Bykov
Tuesday, October 21, 2008Google search for Soviet hockey players. Interestingly enough the qrodo blog show up in top 5
The current Qrodo release is named after Valerij Charlamov. Charlamov is a real legend in Soviet hockey. He was very creative and unpredictable on the ice. Relatively small, but one of the major attractions in the game of hockey when he played. He had impressive skating and stick handling skills. Not only was he a fast skater, he could constantly change gears and direction.
Who would you like to see naming the release thereafter? Who is your favorite? We have used Firsov, Maltsev, Krutov and Bykov earlier.
The first line of CCCP in Canada Cup 1987 with Aleksej Kasatonov, Vjatjeslav Fetisov, Igor Larionov, Vladimir Krutov and Sergej Makarov must be the best line ever? The second line during these dominating years with Bykov, Chomutov och Kamensky was fantastic, but my second all-time line is of course Valerij Charlamov, Vladimir Petrov and Boris Michailov that ruled the rink in Summit Games and World Cups of 1970s. The real striker; during 15 years in the CCCP-jersey was Alexander Maltsev with 213 goals. The first Qrodo release was named after Anatolij Firsov who played in the Soviet team from 1962–1972. He is probably the first non Swedish player that I picked as my favorite in the Stockholm world championship in 1970. From that era we have forgotten the big defenseman Alexander Ragulin.
Qrodo Releases named after Russian Hockey Player
Thursday, June 19, 2008Following a tradition since the very start of Qrodo development, we have used famous Russian hockey players to name releases. The current release Qrodo Bykov 2.1 is named after Vyacheslav Arkadevich “Slava” Bykov. A small, technically gifted center, he was a regular on the Soviet national ice hockey team in the 80’s and after the fall of the Soviet Union he played for Team Russia in the 90’s.
Firsov, Krutov, Maltsev, Bykov and the next release is becoming Charlamov.
New Upcoming Events!!!
Monday, May 5, 2008We have enourmous interest in using Qrodo, even if we only use word-of-mouth. Some
examples are:
- Boo FF football event on June 15th.
- Aros Cupen, big football event on June 29th.
- Jijutsu event in September.
- Kendo event in October.
Many more events to come. This will really enable us to streamline and make Qrodo easy to use for any sports community.
