Qrodo successfully live casted SICS Open house on the Internet! The infrastructure worked flawlessly, and confirmed we are getting ready for big launch. Here is a record example of what the live cast looked like.

Vikingacupen – Ekerö IK Hockey

On Sunday April 6 2008, Qrodo broadcasted the youth ice hockey tournament Vikingacupen over the Swedish 3G mobile network. The video feeds from the event were available from both http://www.qrodo.com and the Sportnik community pages of Ekerö IK Hockey. The event had around 1000 participants from all around Sweden and and demonstrated both standard DV camera integration and Interactive Broadcasting over low and oscillating broadband. The hardware setup for event was a low-end DV camera, a Windows XP laptop and a Turbo 3G USB modem. The 3G uplink was stable, but varied between 50 and 300 kbit/s and stressed the adaptiveness of the Qrodo streaming to its max.

Qrodo Bykov 2.0 RC1 Released

Qrodo Bykov 2.0 RC1 was released on March 20. The users will notice a hotter GUI, better support around creation, execution and viewing of Live Video Events. The Welcome screen is a real teaser application, as it allows you to quickly click events, and view for as long as you wish. Switching between events is faster that a TV remote control. Help is fully integrated in the application and video howtos and troubleshooting will have you up and running in no time.
